After all, that was the basis of the Dark Arts: responsability of the consequences brought upon the world, accountability to himself and his magic.Īny Dark Art would demand a price, and he considered it just to pay for all his failures. And if for the Magic to listen to him there was needed a sacrifice of his own, well, he felt better doing it. He knew he was there, despite that Cloak of his, but pretended he didn't and went on his own, whispering forgotten counter-curses and other dark spells that would put to right what was lost. He hadn't wanted others to know about his pet-project, but he could not deter the Boy Wonder following him in the nights he couldn't sleep. Just as Draco had -at the order of that mad man- fixed the Vanishing Cabinet, so would he make it his life's work to fix what dark curses had left behind. The eyes of someone who wanted to repair it, make it better, instead of the child who had believed Hogwarts unchanging. He did see the wounds, and how despite their victory a sombre air reigned still over the school, but Draco still spent a few months there until he looked at it with new eyes. The awareness of it didn't suddenly strike him when he entered the Great Hall. He would not be able to live with himself otherwise. Something worth a damn, something that could start to make reparations for all the bad deeds he had done the previous years at the service of that. No he needed to do something, something that would be so time-consuming and mind-numbing that would not let him but a moment to tear himself in a ashamed rage, as he had almost done already. The idea of having so many hours in a day to think about what he'd done didn't appeal to him. After that, he didn't know what he wanted to do, but he couldn't just be iddle. Luckily he'd been invited to attend Hogwarts for what would amount to be an Eight Year to prepare himself for his NEWTs, and after that. Living at the Manor that summer was proving to be a hazard, with all the tarnished memories that now flooded his mind about the place that had always been his home. There were times, just after a nightmare, that he reflected about that possibility, though he wasn't yet convinced that it was the only way to live with himself.

I have to admit that I simply fell in love with the concept, and though I developed it a little bit more in my phone's notebook I don't really know that I'll be able to bring it to the greatness it deserves.Ĭause really, you can't tell me that this doesn't have potential, oh my God.Įdit, 1st June 2021: I've corrected all the grammatical errors I found (things like these are the reason I hate writing in my phone -idk why, it always becomes worse off-) and done a few minor edits (a couple words, nothing more.
